7 Days 6 Nights Gorilla & Chimps Safari
Day 1 Kigali
Fly by Rwanda Air to Kigali (flight cost not Included). On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Safari team, who will transfer you to the Hotel and assist you atcheck in. The rest of your day will be spent at Leisure. Lunch and Dinner will be on own arrangement. Overnight Stay at Kigali Serena hotel BB
Day 2 Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, drive to Butare, the cultural heart of Rwanda and home to the former Mwami Palace (King’s Palace), as well as several universities. Also visit the Butare National Museum – a fascinating ethnographic museum containing items of traditional clothing, maps, photographs and historical artefacts. After lunch at a local restaurant in Butare, continue on to Nyungwe National Park. At an altitude of 1600-2950m above sea level, this mountainous rainforest reserve is rich in flora and fauna, with over 260 species of trees and shrubs, and over 100 types of orchid and giant lobelia alone. As well as incredible biodiversity, the park also has breathtaking views. Enjoy Dinner at your Lodge. Overnight at Mantis Kivu Marina Bay Deluxe room on Full Board
Day 3 Nyungwe Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking
Early breakfast at your lodge.
0430 hrs: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park offices.
0500 hrs: Hike into Nyungwe Forest, the natural habitats for a huge population of Chimps. Chimpanzees are great apes that are closely related to humans. During the morning’s walk we are also likely to encounter troops of primates. Nyungwe Forest hosts these intelligent primates who are an endangered species.
After the trek, you will return to the Lodge for Lunch and afternoon at leisure, Dinner and Overnight.
In the afternoon you can also choose to embark on the canopy walk activity. The Canopy walk in Rwanda is an exhilarating experience done in Rwanda’s Nyungwe National park on a suspended bridge 70m High above the great Nyungwe Forest. This guided walk is also on a 160m Long walkway that takes about 02hrs on this suspended bridge

Day 4 Gisenyi
After breakfast you will check out from your Lodge with Picnic Lunch Boxes and drive along the shores of lake Kivu to Gisenyi, a picturesque lakeside town on the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, often referred to as the ‘Martha’s Vineyard of Rwanda’ with its pretty shoreline and colonial-style hotels. One of the greatest freshwater lakes in Rwanda, Lake Kivu lies in the Albertine Rift – part of the Great Rift Valley – and has a secluded inland beach lined with swaying palms, enclosed by green terraced hills. Spend the rest of your day at leisure, exploring the local area. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel L-DBB
Day 5 Volcanoes
Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel followed by Leisure the rest of your morning. After enjoying Lunch at the Lodge, you will depart to the Volcanoes National park. The journey passes through the beautiful terraced hill sides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape. Dinner and Overnight at Bishop’s House (Deluxe Room) on Full Board
Day 6 Gorilla Trekking
Early breakfast at your lodge
0630 hrs; Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park HQs
0700 hrs; Registration where the park staff determines which group of gorillas you will visit. The park staff will advise you on the trekking times and conditions to the various groups based upon their location in the park the previous evening. There are a total of 96 gorilla permits available each day with a maximum of eight trekkers visiting any one group.
Once the trekkers are put into groups, each group’s Lead Guide briefs the trekkers of the trekking procedures as well as the “do’s and don’ts” while in the presence of gorillas; After the briefing trekkers return to their respective vehicles for the drive up the mountain to the starting point. Porters may be hired for the trek to carry your backpack and gear; Cost, US$10 per person/per day. We advise that you utilize this service.
Trekking can take from two to six or more hours if the gorillas move before the park rangers locate them the next morning. The guides stop frequently to allow trekkers a chance to rest and take photos along the way.
After the trek, rejoin your driver Guide for a transfer to your Lodge for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Bishop’s House (Deluxe Room) or Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge LDBB
Day 7 Departure
Today you may choose to go for second Gorilla Trekking to observe the famous Rwandan mountain gorillas (subject to gorilla permits being available). Or Trek in search for the Endangered Golden Monkey in the Virunga National Park Check out and driving back to Kigali and transfer to Kigali International Airport in time to connect to your onwards departure.
