9 Days 8 Nights The East Africa Wildlife Safari

Day 01: Nairobi:
Upon arrival at the airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our Africa Tours representative. After a pre-safari briefing; you will be transferred to your city hotel. Overnight at the Tamarind Tree Hotel or equivalent on bed and breakfast.
Day 02: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve:
After breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve, drive through the Great Rift Valley. The vast plains of the African savannah welcomes you as you enter the spotted plains of the Maasai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an early afternoon of leisure. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Tented Camp/equivalent on full board.
Day 03 & 04: Maasai Mara National Reserve:
These days will be spent in the reserve with options of both doing early morning and evening game drives, half or full day game drives with packed lunches. You can participate in optional activities such as the Maasai Village Visit (EXTRA COST) or do the ever-amazing Balloon Safari (EXTRA COST). All meals and overnight are at Ashnil Mara Tented camp/ equivalent .
Day 05: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Serengeti National Park:
After an early breakfast depart Serengeti National Park, with a brief stop at the Kenya-Tanzania border, Isebania. You will be met by our Tanzanian Crew, have your packed lunch en route, and proceed to Serengeti. Spend the afternoon at leisure and enjoy a late afternoon game drive . Dinner and overnight will be at the Mara Mara tented Lodge/equivalent on full board.
Serengeti National Park is a Tanzanian national park in the Serengeti ecosystem in Mara and the Simiyu regions. It is also famous for its annual migration of over 1.5 million white-bearded (or brindled) wildebeest and 250,000 zebra and for its numerous Nile crocodile. The name “Serengeti” is an approximation of the word used by the Maasai people to describe the area, stringent, which means “the place where the land runs on forever”. The park is usually described as divided into 3 regions: Serengeti Plains, western corridor, and Northern Serengeti.
Day 06: Serengeti National Park:
Spend the day in the Serengeti National Park with game drives. You may decide to do a half-day, full, or morning and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Mara Tented Camp/equivalent on full board.
Day 07: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area:
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation area and arrive for lunch. Spend the afternoon at Leisure as you marvel at the wonderful conservation area. Dinner and overnight at Kitela /equivalent on full board.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a conservation area and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on it two to three million years ago, is 610 meters (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometers (100 square miles). The estimate of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 meters (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high.
The large animals in the crater include the black rhinoceros and buffalo. There also are many other ungulates: wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, Elands, Grant’s and Thompson gazelle and Waterbuck occur mainly near Lerai Forest. Absent are giraffe. Cheetahs, lions ,African wild dogs, and leopards are rarely seen. Although the thought of as “a natural enclosure” for a very wide variety of wildlife, 20 percent or more of the wildebeest and half the zebra populations vacate the crater in the wet season. Lake Magadi, a large lake in the southwest of the crater, is often inhabited by thousands of mainly Lesser Flamingoes.
Day 08: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
This day will be spent in the conservation area with a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch box from the lodge. You can participate in optional activities e.g.visit a Maasai Village Visit at an (EXTRA COST). Overnight at The Crater Forest Lodge/equivalent on full board.
Day 09: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Arusha – Home:
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Arusha and arrive in time for your shuttle to Nairobi or be dropped at the airport for your connecting flight home or chosen extension.
