Rwanda Safari Experiences

Rwanda, the “Land of a Thousand Hills”, offers some of the most emotional wildlife experiences on earth. A Rwanda safari is best known for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, where you spend a magical hour with a mountain gorilla family in the misty Virunga mountains.

Beyond the gorillas, track playful golden monkeys through the bamboo forests of the Virungas, see the Big Five on the savannah of Akagera National Park, and walk among chimpanzees and ancient trees in the pristine montane rainforest of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Compact and easy to travel, Rwanda lets you combine primates, big game and a visit to vibrant Kigali in just a few days.

☀ When to Go

The dry seasons, December to February and June to September, are the best time to visit Rwanda. Gorilla trekking is possible all year round, but the trails are easier to walk during these drier months.

🦍 Gorilla Permits

Gorilla trekking permits in Volcanoes National Park are limited and sell out, especially in the dry seasons, so book early. Our Rwanda packages include your gorilla permits.
