Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
🛏 Overnight: Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp (Full Board)
You’ll be met on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and drive to Amboseli National Park, arriving at camp in time for lunch.
Amboseli lies beneath Africa’s most famous symbol, Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Its waters feed the seasonal swamps and marshes that the wildlife and birds rely on. This is where photographers hope to capture the classic shot of an elephant or giraffe against the snow-capped peak.
After lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp or similar.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park Safari
🛏 Overnight: Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp (Full Board)
An early wake-up call for a pre-dawn game drive. Return for breakfast at camp, with the rest of the morning at leisure.
After lunch, set out on another game drive. Amboseli is famous as the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants, alongside Maasai giraffe, lion and cheetah, with excellent birding near the lakes and swamps. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp or similar.
Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha Boat Ride
🛏 Overnight: Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort (Full Board)
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake on the floor of the East African Rift Valley. Birdlife here is particularly abundant, with over 460 species. It’s a year-round breeding ground for cormorants, and you might see pelicans and spoonbills perched on the dead trees, and almost certainly the fish eagle.
Lunch is at the resort. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on the lake to get closer to the hippos. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort or similar.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Mara North Conservancy
🛏 Overnight: Karen Blixen Camp (All Inclusive)
After breakfast, at around 08:00, drive to the world-famous Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley, with a game drive en route. Arrive at camp in time for lunch and check-in.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy an enthralling game drive in Mara North Conservancy, looking for lions, cheetahs and other spectacular predators until late evening. Dinner and overnight at Karen Blixen Camp or similar.
Day 5: Leopard Gorge & Night Game Drive in Mara North
🛏 Overnight: Karen Blixen Camp (All Inclusive)
After breakfast, head out on a morning game drive to the world-renowned Leopard Gorge, made famous by the BBC’s Big Cat Diary.
Before or after lunch, there’s time for a camp eco-walk, a swim, or armchair game viewing with a drink. You could also book a spa treatment or a visit to a Maasai manyatta (both at extra cost).
In the evening, enjoy a night game drive in Mara North Conservancy. All meals and overnight at Karen Blixen Camp or similar.
🎈 Alternatively (optional, at extra cost): Rise before dawn for a hot air balloon ride. Flights typically take off at 06:30, and you’ll arrive in time to watch the pilots bring the balloons to life. The flight usually lasts about an hour, following the day’s winds, and offers a magical bird’s-eye view of the Mara’s wildlife. On landing, the crew sets up a full champagne bush breakfast on the plains, and each passenger receives a flight certificate from their pilot. An evening game drive follows later in the day.
Day 6: Full Day in Mara North Conservancy
🛏 Overnight: Karen Blixen Camp (All Inclusive)
Set out on an early morning game drive to find the carnivores as they head back to their hideouts after a busy night of hunting, before the sun catches up with them.
Return to camp for a rest and time by the swimming pool. In the afternoon, take another game drive to discover more of the hidden treasures of these endless plains. All meals and overnight at Karen Blixen Camp or similar.
🚙 Alternatively (optional, at extra cost): Take an excursion into the greater Masai Mara National Reserve for a full-day game drive with packed lunches.
Day 7: Flight to Nairobi – Karen Blixen Coffee Garden

After breakfast, transfer to the nearest airstrip for your morning flight back to Nairobi, Kenya’s colourful capital. On arrival at Wilson Airport, enjoy lunch in the serene setting of Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens.
Dinner is on your own account. Overnight at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 8: Departure
